well here I go again I wanted to see what other dog food is out there so I went to this store called animal cracker we live in pittsburgh pa they recommended acana (grain free) and orijen (grain free) I usually buy them wellness core grain free, fromm grain free and bfg I think thats what it is but it's before grain I know that, so this time I'm tryig that acana and the orijen and still sticking with the fromm and didn't buy the wellness core and bf this time, I use to feed them taste of the wild and the lady said they are not too fond of that food the best to buy was evo and then there is acana and the orijen I felt comfortable with that lady cause she had 2 big greyhounds and a small yorkie and she said she feeds her dogs those foods but mostly the evo. Has anyone heard of that brand acana I never did but did hear of the other ones any any advice on these foods. Oh all these feeds are grain free

I have no idea why the lady said she didn't like taste of the wild I was feeding mine that too until she said that I got scared she had given a website to go to and I read there about it but forgot to save that site when I go to that store again I will ask for that site and post it here.

I am uncomfortable with Orijen. It has an extremely high protein count. I showed it to Sadie's foster mom and she said to use it as a treat only! The protein is over 30%.
I don't know about the others.

Hi all.. can anyone else comment on the Orijen food? Reason I ask is my guy has become picky with his food and almost everything I've tried is a no go. I've tried:
Nature's Balance Potatoe/Duck - won't even look at it
Taste of the Wild - Bison - USED to like this, now will only nibble at it
Taste of the Wild - Salmon - no go
Taste of the Wild - Roasted fowl will eat it, not happy about it
Orijen Red Meat - will eat it, not happy about it
Royal Canine Puppy 33 - used to love it, will eat it over everything above.
Orijen Chicken/Fish - loves it - devoures it.
He used to eat Royal Canine Puppy 33 formula - I still give him a little bit too try and keep his weight up. If I mix it with his current TOTW food, he just eats the Puppy food and leaves the TOTW.
I literally laid out 6 dishes of different food the other day (all the above) and he only ate the Orijen Chicken. Sooo.. what are your opinions? is 40% protein too high?
What should I do!?
